Babies and young children are often far more interested in the wrapping than they are with the gift inside. So this year choose a gift that will continue to give for many Christmases to come.

Giving a membership is a great way to stimulate baby, but will also allow parents to socialize as well. A membership to a children’s museum, indoor play place, the YMCA or YWCA, infant music programs such as Kindermusik, or Musicgarten are all great ways to start to get baby involved with others.

Depending on the stocks you pick, it won’t cost you nearly as much as it would have a year ago. Buy stocks in all those stores that we can’t seem to live without, (you know their names) and that seem to be increasing profits in spite of it all. Baby will look back in 10 years or so and give you credit for fostering the entrepreneurial spirit.

Go green and give baby a collection of healthy, organic, and environmentally friendly products. A gift certificate to an organic food store in a basket with some samples of food and snacks for baby, and wine and cheese for mom and dad would provide the healthiest, freshest, and not to mention tastiest food.

A gift card to an organic clothing store in a basket with an organic blanket, towels and toys would mean baby could sleep on organic linen, and wear clothes that avoid the use of chemicals and synthetic fabrics that often cause skin and respiratory irritation.

The nursery should be one of the healthiest places in the house because baby spends so much time there. Removing dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pet dander, bacteria and viruses will increase baby’s chances of staying healthy.

Baby’s first Christmas is a time not to be forgotten. Christmas gift for babies have the advantage over bay showers in that at least the baby is “on the ground”. Of course there may e more than baby you have to consider.

With Christmas fast approaching, now is the time to start considering your Christmas Gift List – those lucky people who will receive the fruits of pondered, considered, carefully thought out gift buys. You have been thinking about it, haven’t you?

To give you bit of a hand, I’ve rounded up a few lists of what is selling for Christmas 2009. These are for a number of different categories, so have a quick look and see what suits you best.

I’ll start with a few of the cheaper items. Naturally, this doesn’t mean poor quality. It just means that this is the group who appreciate receiving something from you and it doesn’t have to be expensive.

It could also mean that your budget is a bit tight and you’d still like to find something nice.

I’ve also has a look at gift ideas for special groups – in this instance, Boys, Boyfriends, and Dad. Luckily males to to have a lot of common interests, so it is handy to group them.

The Boys referred to here tend to be the pre-teens as I’ll deal separately with the older boys in a later post. However, there is some overlap, as most younger males (and some older ones) are into video and computer games. Usually when they should be studying.

Boyfriends deserve special consideration. A lot depends on the stage of the relationship. Usually a touch of romance is appreciated, although you can never go wrong with the latest technology. You’ll see some examples below.

What can you say about Dads? These can be the hardest to buy for as many reach the stage of having just about every thing they need and you’re left struggling to find something for the man who already has everything.
