Perhaps some some of those soft, plastic books for toddlers. Stuffed toys of all kinds are usually a great idea.
For the mom… maybe buy her a spa weekend or something, while you keep the baby? Or if there’s not a spa nearby, give her an IOU for a weekend of babysitting while she goes to do something for herself.

I want to find a good way to give multiple books as a present for a friend’s baby shower. I didn’t want to wrap because the final product would look awkward since the books are different sizes. Can someone help me?

I know you said you dont want to wrap them but maybe wrap them all singly with different papers then stack them up from biggest to smallest putting a bit of tape in between and the string a bow around it and maybe link a paccy or a teddy on top?
Its the first thing i could think of other than a fancy gift bag.

Im a U.S citizen currently living in colombia but i’ll be leaving soon to have my baby in the U.S but the babys father isnt a U.S citizen but how can he be present the day of labor which is in march? Is there any way that can happen for him to get a visa or something to be able to be there on the day of labor?
Is there any other alternatives than getting married?

My man know’s what it is I don’t get why she wouldnt’ want me to know until the shower? Is this weird? I’m afraid that she is spending alot of money and my family will get the same thing or I will. Am I wrong? or is this weird its not like the present is for me its for our baby.

I think she just wants to see the surprise in YOUR eyes when you open it because the baby is too young to be excited over the gift.
She probably figures that since she’s putting a lot of money into the gift, she wants to see SOMEONE get surprised when they open it.
I just think it’s nice (and thoughtful!) that she’s getting the baby something ‘big.’

Question by Naughty ♥Angel♥ Mommy2B!: How can I ask our bosses to pitch in for my coworker’s baby present?
My friend/coworker and I work in a department of 5 people, the other 3 all being our superiors on different levels. They are all older Japanese men, and there are definite culture differences.
She is almost 7 months pregnant, and although I am organizing a baby shower for her at work, I do not think my bosses would want or feel comfortable attending. In the Japanese culture, things such as baby showers are very much ” a woman’s thing”. However, I feel that her having a baby is a huge life event and that our department should all pitch in on a nice present or gift card to present her with before she goes on maternity leave.

I think it is a little out of line to ask them to chip in. Maybe you can hang an envelope on the bulletin board(if you have one) or just put one out explaining your intentions and let them chip in if they prefer to.

One of the best presents I got was a beautiful, pale green (suits either sex) washable baby bag full of things the baby needs, like wipes, nappy sacks, spare babygros and vests and a few treats for me too, like Molton Brown moisturiser (you are constantly washing your hands!) and their moisture bubble bath, for when I had a few moments to myself! I’m sure whatever you buy will be very much appreciated!

A baby blanket is unique, because they may have that for the rest of their life & it could be passed down to their children.
