Question by pookiepoo: How could the party baby shower gifts be stored?
I would like to have something for all baby gifts to go into. Im thinking of a box covered in white fabric and maybe decorated wth lace and that sort of thing. This of course doesnt sound very creative so Im desperately looking for help.
Im looking for any great and unique ideas to make my sisters baby shower look great. thx

A pre-made scrapbook.. we actually did this as the activity at the baby shower instead of playing games but you could make one before you go… it is very sentimental because everyone at my shower made a page (though you would be making the whole thing) and its SUPER nice for me because I can just put pictures on and not have to mess with finding time to make pages with a baby!!
EDIT::: Just a warning about diapers for a gift.. I always use to give size 1 or 2 diapers until I had my own daughter… a lot of people got me diapers… mostly luvs and huggies and well luvs make her bottom break out and she leaks out of huggies because they don’t fit her right… so I had to give all the diapers away and buy my own pampers… so just a little thought to consider about that

Hi there 
My baby shower is next weekend and my sisters did a great deal of planning for it and putting everything together. I know they wouldn’t want me to go over the top with a gift because they’d say save it for the baby, but what’s a nice gift I can do for them? They both live far away from me and are coming to visit on Thursday and they will only be here for a few days before they leave.

Is there a spa or manicure or pedicure place around you? You could take them out for a girls day. You could spend the day hanging out and eating and whatnot. That would be fun!

For those who have friends who are having kids, what would make it easier for you to get them a gift? A wish list from them? A guide about what new parents need? A “baby” consultant ? Is it even a pain point to get the baby a unique gift, or do you find the whole deal pretty straightforward?

A wish list is particularly helpful. Why buy your friend a bunch of Winnie the Pooh stuff if she’s decorating with Noah’s Ark? Know what I mean. It’s also really helpful to know the sex of the child if the parents know and are willing to share that information.
My standard baby gift is a nice board book, a pack of diapers and a box of wipes. When I was a first-time mom, the diapers I got at my shower were pretty boring, I much preferred looking at all the cute little clothes. But as an experienced mom of now 5 children, diapers are very much appreciated. Especially if it’s a 2nd or subsequent child for the friend. They will already have all the basic equipment and probably some clothes. You don’t really need that many clothes for a new baby because they outgrow them so quickly anyway.
If I’m very close with the friend and know her taste preferences, what she already has and the sex of the baby, it’s really simple to come up with a unique gift. If the friend is not very close, then yes… it’s kind of a pain to try to come up with something that you don’t feel like she’s going to return right away anyway.

This is all the things that I have made and bought for my sis-in-laws baby shower. Diaper cake, diaper candy, decorations, etc. I also will be making Diaper cup cakes. Which are very cute. I just need to buy more material for them. I also will be making balloon pacifiers for the baby shower, which I might make a video of it.
