Question by Annie: Is it okay to give cash as a baby shower present?
I don’t want to seem rude but I haven’t had time to go to the baby store. So, is cash okay?

I’d say last resort, cash is okay. It can still go towards buying baby supplies, which I’m sure the mom-to-be will appreciate either way No matter how it comes!

If it were only a few weeks to a couple months I would probably wait, maybe send a card of congratulations. However if we are talking more than couple months I would probably mail one. It just depends on how close you are to the people who had the baby.

Question by : What is the most unique baby shower favor you have received?
I am searching for a unique baby shower favor to give to the guests at my shower in May. It is a fairly large shower (over 50) so I am looking for something that isn’t too expensive! I really want something different that they will appreciate or can have as a keepsake. PLEASE I would really appreciate any ideas that you may have!

You really don’t have to give anything to your guests. At my baby shower, my mom and her friend hosted it and they did a little mesh bag of banana runts (it was monkey theme) and a picture of my son on a tag attached to the bag. They did the shower after my son was born that is how they had a picture of him. Cheap but memorable.

You could do something similar except with an ultrasound picture? Other than that there is really nothing because the only people who will actually appreciate anything are going to be close family. Just give out candy or bubbles or something and have special prizes for the games. you are not required to give anything out at a baby shower and no one will care either way as long as they have a good time there.

Question by ezduzit23: Where can I find Afrocentric baby shower invitations?
I am planning my sister’s baby shower and would really like to find invitations that reflect her personal style. My sister & her husband both have locks and I would like their baby shower invitation to have a couple that looks like them. I’ve seen nice ones with black couples, but all of the mothers have straight hair. Short of using her/ their actual picture, does any one know where I can find invitations or images like this?

I saw a picture of a baby gift basket in which the baby clothes were folded to look like flowers and placed on stems to look like tulips. I think they’re called baby bunch baskets. I would love to make one for my friend’s baby shower, but I haven’t the slightest idea on where to find the instructions for it online. Does anyone know?

I dont know how they do theirs, but I could give you some ideas, receiving blankets could be folded lengthwise then rolled up, and cinched at the base with ribbon so that the resemble roses. Onsies could probably be rolled the same way. Two baby washcloths could be laid one on top the other, pick up at the center so all corners are hanging and tie to make another type of flower (like you would make a tissue paper flower) also look up “diaper cakes” those are really cute. I would fill a basket with baby items such as pacifiers, bottles, teething rings, rattles, toys, bibs, etc. and place the specially folded items around the edges for embellishment.
be creative, nothing you do will turn out “bad” just play with it a while.
good luck and have fun! I think making a baby gift basket is a wonderful idea and a very thoughtful gift with a personal touch.
